A family-run hotel in Chur's old town. Hospitality with tradition since 1793, individually furnished rooms for every budget, and over ten restaurants within a two-minute walk.
The hotel has existed in this building since 1793. Recorded in the National Archives in the provincial news of that year: "Mr. Zunftmeister Conrad Bavier is hereby announcing that he has established the inherited house from his blessed father in the German style to an inn, and gave it the shield with the three kings which was previously associated."
The Schällibaum family then ran the house for over three generations, until 2005. Today the hotel continues under DC Gastronomie GmbH, in the same building, in the same old town, with the same name above the door.
Inside the walls there are details most guests never notice: the oldest preserved hotel room in Chur, a banquet hall that has been alternately part of an abbey and part of the seat of government, and — according to local legend — an underground passage that once connected the bishop's seat to our basement.

Long before our time, the rooms of this house carried other lives. The "Weinstube" was once a relay station for the postal service, and later a set used in the filming of Jürg Jenatsch. The "Drei König" banquet hall has been, by turns, part of a monastery and part of the seat of government.
The first health insurance scheme for the forestry workers of Grisons was drafted under this roof. And somewhere in the building — depending on which corridor you take — sits what is recorded as the oldest preserved hotel room in Chur.
Step out of the door and you are immediately inside Chur's old town — the heart of Switzerland's oldest continuously inhabited city. Five thousand years of habitation, and you can walk most of it in an afternoon.
More than ten restaurants sit within a two-minute walk of the hotel — from traditional Grisons cooking to international kitchens. Our reception will happily point you to whichever suits the evening.
Chur sits at the entry to Graubünden's alpine valleys. The Rhaetian Railway departs from the station — Bernina Express, Glacier Express, and the route past the Landwasser Viaduct all start here.
"Free local public transport, plus reduced entry to many of the region's museums, sights, and mountain railways — given to every guest at check-in."
